Pressure Group, Occupy Ghana has expressed disappointment with the resignation of Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu.

Mr. Amidu on Monday (November 16) resigned his position with immediate effect.

In a letter addressed to the President, Mr. Amidu suggested that the Presidency had not been able to ensure his independence and freedom of action.

However a member of Occupy Ghana, Jayjay Kweku Segbefia in an interview with Radio Ghana’s Nathaniel Nartey, said Martin Amidu’s resignation shows that there was a lot of ego at play and the Former Special Prosecutor (SP) did not have the interest of Ghanaians at heart.

  1. Many are disappointed by this resignation but I sincerely do not think any one can convince Ghanaians that Martin Amodu dose not have Ghana at heart. I total agreed with your view that he could use his good office to compel government to do the needed instead of resigning. Ghana deserves better.
