Ranking Member on the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has questioned Ghana’s readiness to implement the Representation of the Peoples Amendment Act, ROPAA.
According to him, there is still a cloud of uncertainty over whether Ghanaians in the diaspora will vote to elect Parliamentarians as well in the district level elections and referendum.
This is because these elections are classified as national elections and all Ghanaians have the right to vote in National elections.
Mr Ablakwa was speaking at a stakeholders meeting on the implementation of ROPAA in Accra.
Mr Ablakwa said the NDC’s position on ROPAA is that it should be piloted in all 193 countries and not in selected ones.
