Debate on Thursday by the country’s lawmakers was divided on whether Achimota School’s authorities should have allowed the two Rastafarian students who gained admission, to start their classes without requesting that they cut their hair.

This follows a statement read by the MP for North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

He cited Article 28 (4) which says that no child shall be deprived by any other person of medical treatment, education or any other social or economic benefit by reason only of religious or other beliefs.
