Parliament is divided over the Achimota School and the Rastafarian students’ saga.

Former Deputy Minister of Education and MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who made a statement on the issue, called on the School Authorities to immediately admit the students.

He said it is about time school rules and regulations were reviewed to reflect current trends, taking into consideration the rights of students.

Other members who contributed to the statement expressed varied and opposing views on the matter.

Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Adutwum called for cool heads to prevail.

According to him, the Ghana Education Service (GES) will soon issue general guidelines to deal with the current and other foreseeable concerns.
