Parliament invites 2 sector Ministries to provide information on missing Takoradi girls

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Gender, Children and Social Protection and Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Dr. Kojo Appiah Kubi says the decision by Parliament to invite the Interior Minister and the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection is to provide information on effort made by the police and other government agencies on the Takoradi kidnapped girls.

Speaking on news and current affairs programme, ‘Behind the News’ Dr. Appiah Kubi said there are conflicting statements on the kidnapped girls therefore the need to have official information from government.

Meanwhile, Governance Expert, Prof. Emmanuel Asiamah says the invitation of the Ministers by Parliament is in the right direction.

He noted that, the public is at a loss about the missing girls so responding to specific questions from parliament is a good sign of the checks and balances in the system.
