The fate of the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board and National Communications Officer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, is expected to be decided by the close of Monday, May 12, 2025, following a meeting with the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah.

Mr. Gyamfi was summoned by the Chief of Staff after a viral video surfaced showing him handing over an undisclosed sum of money, in US dollar denominations, to former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist, Mama Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

Sources at the Jubilee House say Mr. Gyamfi has been asked to explain the circumstances surrounding the transaction, which has drawn widespread public condemnation and raised concerns over the ethical conduct of public officials.

The footage, widely circulated on social media, appears to show the Acting CEO in a personal encounter with Nana Agradaa.

Critics argue that the video could undermine President John Dramani Mahama’s recently launched Code of Conduct for Public Officials, which promotes integrity, accountability, and transparency in public service.

The code was introduced as part of broader efforts to curb corruption and restore public trust in government institutions.

Due to the political sensitivity and potential reputational damage, sources within government say the Chief of Staff is treating the matter with urgency.
