Seek nation’s interest first- aspiring MP tells Ghanaians

The aspiring National Democratic Congress, (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Kwesimintim constituency, Fiifi Buckman, has entreated Ghanaians to be patriotic and seek the interest of the country instead of focusing on their parochial interest.

He said, the electorate should always choose people who have demonstrated their commitment to the good of Ghana and are willing to sacrifice for the good of the people.

Mr. Buckman was speaking at his acclamation as the sole contender to contest the parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC.

He cautioned against actions and inactions which hinder the development of the country, saying, the collective good of the people should be the concern of all.

He promised to work with the rank and file of the party in the greater interest of the NDC. He urged the people of Kwesimintim to rally behind him by voting for him, to enable him bring development to the area.

He said if given the nod, he will rebrand Kwesimintim by making it the hub for business and development.

He further pledged his commitment to the constituents and gave the assurance that he will unite them, especially the youth and work with them to ensure that the constituency gets a face-lift.

Mr. Buckman promised to empower the youth through education, sports, apprenticeship and entrepreneurial training among others to prepare them for the future.

For his part, a Former Deputy Western Regional Minister, Alfred Ekow Gyan urged the people to stay united always and shun activities that will bring division in the party.

He said in order for the NDC to win back power in the 2020 general elections, there should be unity and hard work.

He added that team work is an essential tool for success and therefore encouraged all party faithful to sensitize each other on the upcoming referendum and general election to win more seats in the various electoral areas.
