Seven file to contest Council of State Election in Ashanti Region

District level elections to be held in Jasikan, Guan Districts on December 19

Seven aspirants contesting the incumbent Ashanti Regional Representative of the Council of State have filed their nominations at the Regional Electoral Commission.

The incumbent is a 67-year-old self-employed, Nana Owusu Acheaw Brempong. 

The eight aspirants including the incumbent had filed their nominations at the close of nominations yesterday in the Ashanti Region.

They are 45-year-old James Nana Prempeh, self-employed, Emmanuel Boateng 41 and an investment and business consultant, 64-year-old Journalist Adam Boakye Yiadom, and James Adusei Sarkodiea 74-year-old teacher.

Others are Nana Bobie Ansah a 59-year-old business Consultant, Justice Baffour Awuah a 36-year-old Journalist and 36-year-old teacher Sulemana Seidu.

According to the Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Benjamin Banor Bioh, all nominations forms are to be forwarded to Accra for some checks including the authenticity of people who endorsed the forms before the notice of poll is published for the elections on the 12th of this month.
