Two hundred and twenty seven people from Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region have so far registered in the on-going limited national voters registration exercise.

This were the figures recorded by the Electoral Commission in its two centres after the second day of the exercise, which started on Monday, June 17.

Mr Edwin Opare, the Deputy Municipal Electoral officer disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Ahwetieso.

He said because of network challenges in the municipality, they have resorted to a manual system of registration, adding that, the exercise was progressing smoothly.

Mr Opare said although they have relocated to their new offices in Ahwetieso, which is located at the outskirt of Tarkwa Township, turnout has been encouraging.

He urged Ghanaians who have attain 18 years and above and have not registered to take advantage of the exercise and register before the 21 days scheduled for the programme elapsed.
