Deputy Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Joshua Ansah has rejected allegations by the ICU that the TUC has decided to eject the ICU from the Hall of Trade Unions in Accra for renovation as a covert attempt to throw them out permanently.

Mr. Ansah stressed that this has never been said anywhere and is not true.

He said the TUC is not using any tricks to eject ICU.

Mr. Ansah said the ICU initially confronted TUC to confirm if the state of the building is suitable for habitation.

This compelled the leadership of TUC to approach its structures to renovate the building to make it habitable.

Meanwhile, a Labour Expert, Austin Gamey has expressed surprise at how far the TUC and ICU have allowed the misunderstanding over the renovation of the TUC headquarters to degenerate.

He said this is a matter that could have been resolved amicably behind closed doors without washing dirty linens in public.

He was speaking to Ibrahim Kwarteng on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, ‘Behind The News’.
