President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent a message of goodwill to former President John Agyekum Kufuor on his 81st birthday.
The President, through his social media platforms stated, “Happy 81st birthday to that outstanding Ghanaian Statesman, the 2nd President of the 4th Republic, His Excellency, John Agyekum Kufuor”. Ex-President Kufuor turned 81 on Sunday, December 8.
Born December 8, 1938, John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor served as the President of Ghana from January 7 2001 to January 7, 2009. He also served as a Chairperson of the Africa Union from 2007 to 2008.
His victory over the late John Evans Atta Mills after the end of Jerry John Rawlings’ second term marked the first peaceful democratic transition of power in Ghana since independence in 1957.
