Prez Akufo-Addo inspects projects aimed at reducing impact of flooding in Accra

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo this afternoon took time off his busy schedule to inspect projects aimed at reducing the impact of flooding in Accra.

He inspected the Odaw river where major dredging is taking place and the Kaneshie first light where a storm drain is near completion.

The Project Manager of Dredge Masters, the contractor undertaking the Project announced it will take two years to complete the dredging of the Odaw drain.

Flooding has become a major perennial problem in the Capital causing havoc to property and resulting in lost if lives.

Successive governments over the years have tried various means to reduce its  impact but have not succeeded.

President Akufo-Addo accompanied by the Minister of Sanitation inspected two projects in Accra when completed will help reduce flooding in the Capital.

The Project Manager of Dredge Masters, Ing Wise Ametepe took the President round.
