Prime suspect in Gomoa Buduburam killing of police officers busted

The prime suspect in Gomoa Buduburam murder case  Eric Kojo Duah has been busted.

A statement signed by the Director General of the Police Public Affairs, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP), David Eklu, said the suspect, Eric Kojo Duah, was arrested Saturday, August 31, 2019, on the Adomi Bridge at Senchi in the Eastern Region.

ACP Eklu said the arrest was as a result of a combined operation of police officers led by personnel of the National Operations Department of the Police Headquarters.

Duah was declared wanted following the incidence last Wednesday.

According to the information from the police, “Officers detailed on duty at Atimpoku bridge were alerted to arrest occupants of a black Golf car with registration number GW 5972-18 heading towards Volta region”.

The suspect had a big plaster on the left side of his face at the time of his arrest to disguise himself since there is a bounty of ¢10,000 on his head. 

Sgt. Michael Dzamesi and Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal were on Wednesday afternoon, shot around the Liberia Camp on the Kasoa-Winneba highway.

The incident happened at a check point when the police officers on duty tried to stop an unregistered blue black Toyota camry but the occupants failed to stop and the police pursued them.
