One hundred girls are to be supported in schooling over the next one year.
The project under the auspices of the Abiola Bawuah Foundation (ABF) is meant to provide opportunities that improve girls’ lives and ensure they aspire to greater heights through education.
Launching the project, the brainchild of ABF, Marufatu Abiola Bawuah, said the foundation was birthed out of the personal struggles she had gone through as a child and the instrumental role some women played in ensuring she surmounted the hurdles in her education.
Mrs. Abiola Bawuah, who is the Regional CEO, for United Bank for Africa (UBA) said the foundation will offer support on a needs assessment basis.
A Trustee of the Foundation, Adwoa Awindor, said ABF will work with other like-minded NGO’s to ensure they don’t just support teenage mothers to go back to school, but also conscientize society in stemming the tide of teenage pregnancy.
