Sege: Police arrest four suspected robbers who attacked two families

The Sege District Police Command has arrested four suspected knife and gun wielding robbers, who allegedly attacked two families in their homes.

Three of the robbers were identified as Ibrahim Abubakar, 24 -year-old, a Nigerian; Sulemana Tamakloe, 21, and Evans Doku, 22, both Ghanaians.

The name of the fourth suspect was not given, but a fifth suspect in the incident whose name was only given as Christopher is said to have left a bag containing his shirts, cutlass and other offensive weapons used for the operation in a commercial vehicle after Police gave him a hot chase.

The police have also arrested a 44-year old woman, Belinda Sorgbordjor, for possessing parcels of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp.

The Sege District Police Commander, DSP George Aboagye, who briefed GBC, said the three robbers were arrested from their hideout at about 7 a.m., few hours after the attack, where they made away with an unspecified amount of money and other valuables including mobile phones.

The suspects were Wednesday, July 1, arraigned before the Sogakope Circuit Court and were remanded.

More than 10 people in two different homes, including 28-year-old Abraham Nanor, were robbed.

Abraham Nanor who is currently receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital was shot in the leg during the attack which happened on his birthday.
