Stay away from work if you show coronavirus symptoms- GHS

The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye has advised organisations and institutions to reduce workplace congestion to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

Speaking at the weekly media briefing on Ghana’s case count and management, Dr. Aboagye entreated staff who show symptoms of the virus to stay away from work and seek medical attention.

He said most infections may have been contracted from communities to the workplace and called on organisations to contact the Ghana Health Service whenever there are any suspected or positive cases to help in the containment of the disease.

Dr. Aboagye indicated that Ghana’s cumulative Positive cases of COVID-19 now stand at 23,463. These case counts were recorded through the routine surveillance and enhanced contact tracing.

He disclosed that the total clinical recoveries stand at 18,622 with 129 deaths.

This brings Ghana’s total active cases to 4,717, with 26 in severe conditions, eight in critical state with six on ventilators.

Dr. Aboagye said the Ghana health Service has identified four hotspot regions which require urgent attention in Ghana’s fight against Covid-19.
