The use of mobile phones while driving is on the increase and is an issue of major concern.

The PRO of the National Road Safety Commission, Kwame Atuahene, says it’s an offence to use mobile phones and other communication devices while driving.

He told GBC Radio that it is unfortunate that private vehicle owners are mostly the offenders than commercial drivers and called on the MTTD to intensify prosecution of offenders to change the trend.

He said text messaging while driving is worse.
