Waardenburg Syndrome: A genetic disorder common among Children

A rare genetic disorder known as Waardenburg syndrome is becoming common among children in Ghana. Deputy Chief Audiologist at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital, Madam Jemima Fynn said Waardenburg syndrome is the number one cause of hearing loss in the country with a prevalence rate of 4.8 percent. The disease has no cure but can be managed.
