Justice Kwaku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo, one of the seven Court of Appeal justices nominated by President John Dramani Mahama for elevation to the Supreme Court, is currently before Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting.
Justice Ackaah-Boafo’s vetting by the Committee was earlier suspended following a petition filed by Anthony Kwabenya Rau, who accused the judge of misconduct during a court session.
Rau claimed that Justice Ackaah-Boafo insulted and disrespected him, describing him as “arrogant” and “power drunk”, allegations the nominee has strongly denied.

Today’s proceedings are expected to conclude the vetting of all seven nominees. The Committee’s final report will be submitted to the full House for consideration.
Justice Ackaah-Boafo is the last of seven justices nominated by President Mahama to serve on the Supreme Court bench.
