Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has urged the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to capitalize on the country’s World Cup appearance to promote Ghana as an investment destination and boost tourism.
“Our presence there will let people be aware that in our country, we are an investment destination for potential investors to take advantage of”, he said.
Speaking at the Inauguration of the World Cup Planning Committee on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in Accra, Mr. Debrah emphasized the importance of leveraging the Black Stars’ presence at the tournament to attract potential investors and encourage fans to visit Ghana while also highlighting the need for corporate organizations to support the country’s efforts, citing the extensive media coverage Ghana will receive during the World Cup.
He also stressed the importance of visa facilitation for fans traveling to support the team, stating that this would contribute to promoting Ghana’s tourism industry.
“Think about the number of times the country will be mentioned throughout the tournament. We should be able to take advantage of our presence on the world stage to market”, he stressed.
The Chief of Staff also expressed President Mahama’s confidence in the Black Stars, stating that the team has the potential to make Ghana proud on the international stage.
“The President has so much trust in you, in representing us well at the World Cup”.
Mr. Debrah called for unity and urgency in promoting Ghana’s image, urging stakeholders to work together to showcase the country’s capabilities and attract investment opportunities.
According to him, the citizens must lead with clarity, act with urgency and protect Ghana with discipline and pride.
