Man grabbed for impregnating daughter

A 42-year old man, who allegedly had impregnated his 14-year-old biological daughter, has been arrested by the police at Anyah, a suburb of Accra, on Tuesday.

Daniel Baah, 42, a scrap dealer, is in the custody of the police in Accra assisting in investigations.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, announced these at a press conference in Accra, Tuesday February 18.

She said school authorities of the victim reported to the Social Welfare Department that the victim was pregnant, and the department alerted the police, who apprehended Baah.

DSP Tenge said the suspect  had sexual intercourse with the victim, when the mother had left the house.

In another development, the police have arrested a suspected land guard, Solomon Odei, 31, and Alhaji Sani, financier of the land guard  activities, at Abokobi, in Accra.

According to the police, Odei who also has a case at Tesano Police for allegedly shooting someone, has been terrorising land developers and residents at Abokobi and its environs.

DSP Tenge said the police retrieved four pistols, 100 rounds of ammunition, a jack knife, assorted mobile phones and dried leaves, suspected to be Indian from Ode.

She said the two have been remanded into police custody by an Accra Court.
