The University of Development Studies (UDS) football team emerged as winners at the grand finale of the 2025 FISU University World Football Tournament, University for Development Studies (UDS) of Ghana against Paulista University of Brazil. The first batch arrived of Friday, 3rd October 2025.
The remaining members of the team arrived on Sunday 5th October 2025 and were warmly welcomed at Kotoka International Airport by enthusiastic fans, students, family members and government officials. This marks the first time an African university has won the title, a milestone widely celebrated across the continent.
