Ghana Premier League team Ashantigold were involved in a robbery attack on the Accra Obuasi road on their way to Obuasi after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Accra Hearts of Oak.
A tweet on the team’s official Twitter handle gave an account of what transpired.

(1/2). We got attacked by armed robbers on our way back from Accra at Assin Endwa.

The players as well as the Technical team have all safely arrived at their base at Obuasi.
