Bibiani GoldStars have made history by winning their first-ever Ghana Premier League title, following a commanding 4-0 win over relegated Accra Lions on the final day of the 2024/25 season. The victory marks a monumental achievement for the Miners, just four years after their promotion to the top flight, showcasing their rapid rise to the pinnacle of Ghanaian football.
Heading into the decisive fixture, the Bibiani-based side was under immense pressure, knowing that anything less than a win would jeopardise their title ambitions, especially with rivals Nations FC and Asante Kotoko also involved in crucial matches. Fortunately for GoldStars, both competitors faltered, allowing the Miners to secure the championship regardless of other results.
The match at Duns Park saw GoldStars quickly set the tone, with Abdul Farouk Amoaful firing home after just four minutes to give them an early lead. The hosts continued their relentless push, and by the 19th minute, Kelvin Oppong doubled their advantage with a simple tap-in from a cross on the right flank, leaving Accra Lions on the back foot.

Despite the Lions’ attempts to regain control and dominate possession later in the game, they struggled to create meaningful chances, while GoldStars remained firmly in charge. After the break, Samuel Atta Kumi extended the lead further, effectively sealing the victory with a well-placed finish that put the game beyond doubt.
Frank Amankwah added the final touch to the scoreline five minutes before the end, capping off a dominant performance by Bibiani GoldStars. Their triumph not only crowns a remarkable rise but also marks a historic milestone, as they celebrate their first Ghana Premier League title in commanding fashion.
