Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team ended their African Schools Football Championship journey by securing a 2-1 victory over Uganda to claim third place on Saturday at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The encounter saw Uganda strike first, with their influential captain Ashraf Kyakuwa firing them ahead in the first half. Uganda dominated much of the early exchanges, keeping the Ghanaian defense under pressure with swift attacking play.
Despite the setback, the Ghanaian boys showed great determination in the second half. Fired up by the home crowd, midfielder Eric Addai leveled the score with a composed finish, bringing the stadium to life. The momentum shifted firmly in Ghana’s favor, and forward Hakeem Kassim capitalized, scoring the decisive goal to complete the turnaround.

The young Ghanaians showed incredible resilience and character to overturn the deficit and finish third place in the tournament. Their performance drew loud cheers from the crowd, who celebrated the team’s determination and fighting spirit.
The grand finale will see defending champions Tanzania lock horns with Senegal for the title.
