All roads lead to Mantse Agbonaa, Jamestown tomorrow, Monday 22nd September, as the Ministry of Sports and Recreation rolls out the first official activation of the National Recreation & Wellness Programme (NaRWP) under the theme: “Play More, Live Well – The Ga-Mashie Edition.”
The early morning event, which begins at 6:00 a.m., is a collaborative effort between the Ministry and the Odododiodio Constituency, led by Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation, and Hon. Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, Member of Parliament for the area.
NaRWP is a nationwide initiative that seeks to promote active lifestyles, improve public health, and foster community engagement through structured recreational, wellness, rehabilitation, and school physical activity programmes.
Tomorrow’s Activities Include:
- Mass aerobics & free health screening
- Indigenous games like Oware, Ludu, Ampe, and Draft
- Tag of Peace rope challenge
- Community football & volleyball matches
- Exciting prizes, trophies & giveaways
The event is open to the general public, with a special invitation to schools, youth groups, fitness clubs, elderly associations, and healthcare volunteers. Participants are encouraged to come in their sports attire and join in what promises to be a vibrant, inclusive, and impactful experience.
