The Miracle Africa International Foundation (MAIF), in collaboration with the Diaspora African Forum, Sportica and Bechem United Football Club, officially launched the fourth edition of the Education Through Sports initiative on June 18, 2025, at the Diaspora African Forum office.
The program aims to provide educational scholarships to young athletes, helping them develop both their sports skills and academic backgrounds to reach professional levels.

During the launch, H.E. Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder and Head of Mission of the Diaspora African Forum, emphasized the importance of the initiative for athlete development.
“Our goal is to support talented young boys and girls who aspire to reach the highest levels of football but lack the proper educational foundation. We’ve successfully helped some athletes go to Europe, thanks to our diplomatic relationships. We are preparing more athletes through specialized training programs designed by our training schools”, she explained.

Dr. Bennett highlighted the progress made so far, sharing that “we have some dynamic boys already out there in Europe, and three more are preparing to leave soon, one heading to Portugal and another to Spain. The training programs are specifically designed to prepare them for this transition.”
She added that the initiative’s partnership with various embassies has been pivotal in securing visas and opportunities for these young talents.
Nadia Murabet, founder of Miracle Africa International Foundation, outlined the primary objectives of the program.
“Our main focus is providing educational scholarships for young athletes. In upcoming events, we will officially award these scholarships and share the recipients’ names. The ultimate goal is to expand this initiative to reach different villages across Ghana, giving more young people access to education and sports development”, she said.

The launch underscores a shared commitment to nurturing sporting talent while ensuring youth access to quality education.
The organisers expressed optimism about expanding the program’s reach and impact, aiming to transform the lives of many young athletes across Ghana and beyond through education and sporting excellence.
