Ghanaian high jumper Rose Yeboah delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Oregon, finishing as the runner-up with a height of 1.93 meters which has become her new season best. The 23-year-old athlete showcased her consistency and determination, narrowly missing out on the top spot which was claimed by Elena Kulichenko, who cleared 1.96 meters to win the title. Yeboah’s impressive season’s best highlights her status as one of the top high jumpers in collegiate athletics this year.
Yeboah has been in excellent form throughout 2025, setting a new national indoor record of 1.92 meters in February. Her remarkable achievements this season have solidified her reputation as Ghana’s leading female high jumper. Her performance at the NCAA Championships adds to her growing list of accolades and demonstrates her progress on the international stage. Despite the narrow defeat, her display was widely praised for its technical excellence and competitive spirit.
The competition also marked a moment of redemption for Kulichenko, who had been beaten by Yeboah on count back last year. Kulichenko’s winning jump of 1.96 meters was a clear demonstration of her exceptional talent and determination. The rivalry between the two athletes has added extra excitement to the collegiate high jump scene, with both athletes pushing each other to new heights. Kulichenko’s victory in Oregon was a well-deserved culmination of her hard work and dedication.
Yeboah’s achievements extend beyond collegiate competitions. Last year, she made history as the first Ghanaian female high jumper to participate in the Olympic Games, competing in Paris 2024. Her Olympic debut was a significant milestone for Ghanaian athletics and has inspired many young athletes across the country.
Her success has earned her national recognition, including being honoured as the Sports Personality of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year at the 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards in January 2025. With her talent and determination, Rose Yeboah is poised for even greater achievements in the future, both nationally and internationally.
