It was the largest gathering of hundreds of bike lovers in Tema to do what they love to do, cycling and make new friends as well as exercise. The Tema bike festival is an annual fun activity put together by organizers to promote peace and serve as a mentorship for the young boys. One of the organizers, Ina okey, said this years focus was to educate both cyclers and drivers on the right way to use the road to avoid accidents.

“Tema has a lot of inner roads, and it is vital that residents feel safe when embarking on any form of exercising activity like biking or walking”.
The drivers including children and the elderly, some who joined in vehicles biked a distance of about 30 kilometers through Tema, educating and sharing flyers on the safe use of the road.

Six-year-old, Desmond Anderson who did not look nor feel tired after riding the distance was happy his father took him on the trip.
He said, ” l enjoyed myself and l look forward to the next festival. I will be good at home and school so my daddy will take me along”.

Press Aide to the First Lady’s office, Richard Darko who joined the event, was excited he did. He said, “being a busy person, such events offers one the opportunity to also exercise”.
He commended the organizers for putting together the event.

A rider and Head of the Holy Spirit Fire Centre Assembly of God, Rev. Desmond Anderson who spoke highly of the importance of the festival was not happy that there was no Police around to check some of the riders and drivers for possible misbehavior on the road.
