Drones Academy opened in Benin

The African ICT Foundation and its partners CTA and Global Partners have launched a drones academy in the Republic of Benin to enable the formation of human capital for safe use of Drones in Africa.

The project which is funded by the European Union through the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and Implemented by Global Partners in collaboration with CTA and the Eastern Kentucky University Aviation School (EKU), is to boost the use of drones for development in Africa and allow drone users to acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to use drones while ensuring the safety of people and goods.

The launch which has opened a new capacity-building door for the employability of young Africans everywhere, also contributes to the realization of the African Union (AU) mission that identified drones is an innovative technology that will accelerate the transformation of the African continent.
