With college hookup rates on the ascendancy, a team of engineers, headed by Ghanaian Dr. Yaw Ansong Jnr, has created the world’s first dating app with a relationship progress tracker.
“LoveRealm” as the platform is known, is different from other existing platforms because unlike other dating platforms where people just swipe, meet, hook up, and then ‘on to the next’; the loverealm app matches people and measures the progress of their relationships, thus offering suggestions on who to focus on.
The goal of the team is to enable people have successful marriages. Asked about the rationale behind the dating app, one of the founders of the app, Dr. Yaw Ansong Jnr said the number of youths committing suicide over break-ups is alarming.
As a medical doctor, that bothered him a lot, so he and his co-founders came up with the app idea to connect people to have stable relationships.
The team is hoping that with their supportive community, people who sign onto the app can freely ask questions anonymously as well access free relationship resources such as coaches. They hope this will help people find true love.’
