The MTN Group has disclosed that approximately 5,700 MTN Ghana customers may have been impacted by a recent security breach.

The Data Protection Commission (DPC) has initiated an investigation into a potential cybersecurity incident, following the unauthorised access of personal information belonging to certain MTN Ghana customers.

MTN Group reassured the public that it is collaborating with top cybersecurity experts and conducting a forensic investigation in accordance with established security protocols to evaluate the extent of the breach.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 28, MTN Group confirmed that all affected customers would be contacted directly.

The company also stated that the investigation is ongoing, and it is committing the necessary resources to resolve the issue as swiftly as possible.

“MTN assures its customers that the privacy of information is our top priority, and we remain committed to safeguarding the integrity of our systems and the trust placed in us by our customers and other stakeholders.
