Melcom rewards Sergeant Awuni as hardworking police officer

Melcom Care, under Melcom Group of Companies has presented a shopping voucher with one thousand Ghana Cedis to (GHc1,000) to Sergeant Adareea Awuni as a winner of hardworking police officer in the Capital, Accra.

The Group has also given a similar voucher to The Public Relation Officer, Accra, DSP
Effia Tengey for her commitment to work.

Presenting “this personal award” to The Officer at his Duty Post, Manet Junction on The Spintex Road, where he was controlling both vehicular and human traffic on a hot afternoon of 7th July, 2020, the Communication Director of Melcom, Godwin Avenorgbo called for the need to motivate hardworking staff.

According to him, “in nation building we can’t succeed without the human resources being motivated”.

He said Public Officers are making sacrifices beyond their remuneration and “therefore, if corporate bodies in this country can provide some input in terms of money, material to motivate at the personal level through institutions of course, people will wake up happily and be rushing to work”.

The Police was grateful to Melcom for recognizing one of their own and they also presented some of their lastest news magazines to The Group as a gesture of reciprocity.

The Accra MTTD Commander, ACP Martin Ayiih said, The Police will in coming days recognize and award hardworking officers as a way of motivating them.

ACP Ayiih added that, “this act by Melcom, will ginger Sergeant Adareea Awuni and others the more”, as he charged all police under his jurisdiction to work hard for mother Ghana.

“Sergeant Awuni has gained a lot of admiration from residents and commuters on the Spintex Road on how he performs his duties creditably and professionally.

Being a Trafhc Police ofhcer, Sergeant Adareea Awuni’s duties include trafflc management, enforcement and education of road regulations along the Spintex Road and he does this with finesse”.

His schedule starts at 0600hrs to 1600hrs, Monday to Sunday.
