Ocean Cleanup begins in Pacific

It’s made up of some 1800 billion pieces of waste that weigh an estimated 80 million kilos. A giant rubbish patch that’s three times of the size of France is the target of a cleanup project that’s getting underway in the Pacific ocean.
A u-shaped pipe trailing a 3 metre deep net will scoop up the rubbish which will then be shipped back to shore. Dutch inventors who raised 250 million euros in crowd-funding are behind the operation.
