World leaders urged to demonstrate strong commitment

The Spiritual Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has charged world leaders to demonstrate strong commitment to the ideals of Equality and Justice in their dealings with poorer nations.

Speaking at 16th National Peace Symposium of the Ahmadiyya Community in London, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said the neglect of the poor and the marginalised has partly contributed to conflicts and agitations in many parts of the world.

The National Peace Symposium was outdoored in 2009 by the Ahmadiyya Community to honour individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to peace and development in various parts of the world.

The award is to celebrate such individuals and to motivate others to make conscious efforts to make the world a better place through innovation and engagement.

The event which attracted over 800 guests, had in attendance, members of the British House of Lords, MPs, UK Ministers, the diplomatic community, the clergy, Faith Based Organisations, Civil society, the media and representatives from many parts of the world.

This year’s award winner, Dr Fred Mednik, founder of Teachers Without Borders took home a trophy, a certificate and an undisclosed amount of money.

The Spiritual Head of the Ahmadiyya Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad admonished those in positions of responsibility to give their all to make the world a better place.
