The NDC says it is disappointed with the Supreme Court’s ruling which upheld CI 126 and gave the EC the go-ahead to compile the voter register without inclusion of the existing ID Card as one of the breeder documents for the registration.

In a live broadcast from the party’s headquarters yesterday, NDC Flagbearer, John Mahama said they disagree with the ruling because persons without a Ghana CARD, passport or guarantors will be excluded from the new voters’ register and this is not in the interest of democracy.

Mr. Mahama said it is regrettable that the EC is not as independent as it should be.

He urged eligible voters to turn up massively when the exercise begins NEXT TUESDAY  to be captured onto the new voters’ register, so as to be able to vote in the December 7 election.
