The Daily Graphic believes yesterday’s meeting between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be the beginning of processes to disband the groups of macho men by either party to champion their cause. The paper says if Ghanaians do not want the predictions of the Director General of the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, that violence would escalate in the 2020 electioneering if the country failed to curtail the operations of political vigilante groups to happen, now is the time to say no to the groups. The paper urges the two political parties not to take entrenched positions that will be inimical to the fruitfulness of the talks but to discuss the issue dispassionately, so the country will become the ultimate winner.

The Ghanaian Times calls on people to heed to calls by the Meteorological Agency. The paper says yesterday it did not only report the downpour but went further to warn the public to brace themselves for more. The paper urges the authorities to sit up and ensure the minimisation of losses and accidents. It commiserates with all who fell victim to the rains and hope they would gird their loins and pick themselves up to live normally. The Times hopes people would give ears to the Meteorological Authority so as to save lives from further calamities.
