The Daily Graphic endorses moves by SSNIT to compel employers to honour their responsibility to their employees to avert any complications in future. The Director-General of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang announced that the trust had to drag over 4 thousand three hundred employers to court over various offences including failing to submit contribution reports. The paper believes that SSNIT must show more commitment to transparency to win public confidence in its activities.
The Ghanaian Times applauds the decision by the Ministry of Roads and Highways to demolish structures causing mudslides along the Peduase-Ayi Mensah road. This is due to the construction of buildings on the Akuapem Ridge and other unlawful acts which according to the Minister weakens the landscape. It says the situation poses a danger to those plying the road as rocks from the top of the Akuapem Ridge could fall on it and cause harm to people. The Times calls on the authorities to be proactive on the matter to save lives.
