THE GHANAIAN TIMES: Finds the one hot meal a day for JHS final year Students and staff laudable. It says the students were going hungry due to compliance with Covid-19 protocols as food vendors were not allowed into the school’s premises. The paper says this initiative will enable the students to pay attention in class instead of being distracted by the grumbling of their stomach due to hunger. The paper urges the Gender Ministry and caterers who will be in charge of the distribution of the food to be diligent in their work and ensure that it is cooked under hygienic conditions. The Times recommends that measures are put in place to sustain it beyond the stipulated period.

THE DAILY GRAPHIC lauds the inauguration of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) in Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region. The paper says the inauguration brings to the fore the significant multiple benefits that the people of Somanya, adjoining communities, and even beyond will derive from this institution of higher learning. It says Opportunities abound to enhance the quality of education in the area, the region and beyond because university education, which is the ultimate in higher education, has been brought to the doorstep of the people of Somanya and its environs, especially with the siting of the main campus and majority of its faculties in Somanya. The paper says besides, employment opportunities will inure to the benefit of the people in the community who may gain direct, as well as indirect, employment.
