The Daily Graphic urges government to consider implementing policies that will help increase poultry farms in the country. According to the paper, the poultry industry contributes immensely to the Gross Domestic Product of countries as it accrues high revenue from exports. The paper therefore lauds the announcement by the Minister of Food  and Agriculture that government has set a target to invest in the poultry component of the ‘Rearing for Food and Jobs’ initiative. The Graphic finds the move as a major step to stop the importation of chicken into the country and therefore calls for the right mechanisms, to ensure the success of the programme.

The Ghanaian Times finds the unfolding events at the University of Education, Winneba  worrying. The paper says the unending leadership crisis at the University which is mandated to produce professional Educators to redirect Ghana’s efforts along the path of rapid Socio-Economic development must end to restore the dignity of the institution. The Times therefore appeals to all parties in the impasse to allow for a peaceful resolution of the matter through the court for academic work to begin peacefully.
