The Ghanaian Times charges Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to halt the use of car tyres to smoke meat. It says according to health experts the process is hazardous. The paper shares the view that the practice is a public health threat which requires regular inspection and strict enforcement of sanitation and environmental laws to stop it. The Times also calls on the assemblies across the country to take steps to halt the practice and urge the Ministry of Health to also join in educating the public to promote public health safety in the country.

The Daily Graphic comments on the President’s message on combating global poverty at the UN General Assembly. The paper agrees to the president’s assertion saying that poverty is really a problem in the world and the President could not have found any better time to highlight the issue. The Graphic contends that the President’s observation will be taken seriously for global attention to be sought to help reduce poverty in the world, leading to the robust system of property rights and crucial private investment.
