The Daily Graphic says making the one district, one factory policy the beginning of industrialization is a good initiative. It says given that the one district one factory policy is a private-sector-led accelerated industrial development strategy, people must proceed with caution over the wholesale tax exemption policy, so that companies do not hide behind the policy to avoid or evade tax which is critical for the accelerated development of the country. The Graphic says the country must also set targets for the companies that benefit from the tax exemption policy so that efficiency becomes their primary goal.
The Ghanaian Times expresses worry about dumping of refuse and open defecation along the banks of rivers and other water bodies by residents of the Ankobra Basin communities in the Western Region due to lack of sanitation facilities. The paper says these activities poses a health risk to residents who use the water. The paper is entreating the District Assemblies and other stakeholders within the area to put in place effective measures to address sanitation challenges facing the area.
