President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Affail Monney, has tasked the Police to arrest and prosecute perpetrators of the attacks on Journalists at the Ablekuma Central Collation Center.

He asked the incumbent MP to produce the assailants who launched the attacks to assist the Police with the investigations.

Briefing the media, Mr. Monney said the incident has resulted in the death of one person while a journalist, Pius Mensah, who sustained gunshot wounds is in critical condition on admission at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital awaiting surgery.

However, GBC’s Doreen Ampofo, who was also pelted with a stone has been treated and discharged.

Mr. Monney was hopeful SIC will redeem its ¢20 million insurance package promised Journalists to cover those affected in the Ablekuma Central attack.
