Christmas Eve in Accra was a night to remember, with the city pulsating with energy and excitement. The streets were abuzz with revelers, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of festive cheer. As the clock struck 5 PM, the Accra Sports Stadium transformed into a sea of vibrant colors and pulsating rhythms as Bhim Fest 2025 kicked off, headlined by the iconic Stonebwoy.

Meanwhile, at Laboma Beach, the Samini Experience was in full swing, with reggae and dancehall beats filling the air. The beach was packed with partygoers, all eager to soak up the festive vibes and enjoy the stunning coastal views. But many were left wondering: why did Samini seem to hurriedly organize an event alongside Bhim Fest, with the likes of Shatta Wale — Stonebwoy’s arch-rival — on the bill? Was it a deliberate move to draw attention away from Bhim Fest, or just a coincidence?

At the UPSA Auditorium, music legend Kojo Antwi took to the stage, entertaining the crowds with his timeless hits. The event, dubbed Get Kojo Antwified, was a testament to the Maestro’s enduring popularity.

As the night wore on, churches across the city came alive with carols and Christmas Eve services, filling the air with hymns and prayers. The faithful gathered to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas amidst the hustle and bustle of the city’s festivities.

Traffic congestion was a major issue, with roads jammed and movement almost grinding to a halt. But revelers didn’t let that dampen their spirits, as they turned the night into a daytime experience, dancing and singing along to their favorite tunes.

The heat was palpable, but the excitement in the air was electric. People dressed in their finest attire, with fashion statements abounding. Laughter and joy were infectious.

Attendance-wise, Bhim Fest was a sellout, with thousands packing the stadium. The Samini Experience and Kojo Antwi’s show also drew massive crowds, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of Accra’s music scene.

As the night wore on, the city showed no signs of slowing down, with Detty December celebrations stretching into the early hours of the morning. It was a night that would be etched in the memories of Accra’s residents and visitors alike — a testament to the city’s love for life, music, and celebration, with Ghanaians literally taking the merry out of Christmas this season as always.
