A Ghanaian Musician, Mr. Odartey Lamptey, popularly known as Gasmilla has disclosed that his decision to wear a turban reminds and gives him the feeling that he is a King.

Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show with Valerie Danso, he stated that the turban is his brand because of its significant meaning which is purity and because he tilts towards good things.

“I decided to put the turban on to remind me, it also stands for purity, by the way it reminds me that am always growing. But, there is a good and bad energy after all we tilt towards the good. So, this is just a reminder that am a king and I don’t need a crown to prove it,” he said. He added that the use of turban is to maintain the history and originality of the Ga People and to give them an identity”.

He also added that the use of Nyanura (weed) around his neck is equally his brand, he chose the weed because it is a spiritual plant which stands for positive energy, purity and also protects him from evil.
