Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 96th birthday today. She travelled by helicopter to her Norfolk estate, where she will be joined by family and friends. The Queen is expected to stay in a cottage on the estate particularly liked by her late husband, Prince Philip.
Ahead of this year’s commemorations for becoming the first British monarch to celebrate 70 years on the throne, a photograph has been released to mark the birthday, showing the Queen at her home at Windsor castle, with two ponies, reflecting her life-long interest in horses.
