The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), has cautioned companies using the Authority’s Certification Mark without permission to desist from the act.
It has therefore given such companies up to the 30th of next month (August), to acquire license from the Authority before using the Certification Mark or face the law.
The Director, Corporate Communications — Ghana Standards Authority, Dr Kofi Amponsah-Bediako told reporter Nathaniel Nartey that the Authority is often faced with the challenge of getting the right balance between promoting trade and industry to improve the economy and enforcing the law on the accepted standards.
Meanwhile, Dr. Amponsah Bediako has advised consumers not to purchase cheap products. This is because most cheap products are inferior.
He said expensive products are most likely of good quality and have certification from the Ghana Standards Authority.
