Harmattan breezes are fast blowing over the country, an indication Christmas is around the corner. With the festive season just days away, many are expected to be preparing feverishly for it. But is it really the case? GBC News sought answers.

Hitting the streets of Accra, People are skeptical about celebrating this year’s yuletide due to the current economic concerns, post Covid-19 situation.

Speaking to GBC News, some residents of Accra, said that the Covid-19 pandemic will let them celebrate with caution.

They were however hopeful that the celebrations will still happen as situations regarding the pandemic have reduced and most people are responding positively to the vaccination drive.

Over the last couple of years, decorative light installations have featured prominently on the yuletide landscape.

Dubbed ”light up the city project”, some cities, especially the capital, have seen major streets and key locations lit with beautiful lights at night.

So far, key military installations such as Burma camp have been decorated.

Our drive through the independence avenue of Accra saw some workers of the project, feverishly fixing their installation.

The expectation is that the joy and hope the season brings will radiate in homes.
