The six Pupils who were killed after they were knocked down by a​ vehicle have been put to rest at Ankaase in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti region.

The burial Service was witnessed by a cohort of sympathizers from far and near who came to mourn with the deceased families.

Seven Pupils were returning from school on Wednesday,11th May, 2022 when six met their untimely death leaving one in a critical condition.

The Pupils were knocked down by a vehicle with registration number GR-2392-22.

Five out of the six dead students were buried at Ankaase, while the remaining one was sent to Saboba where the family requested her to be buried.

The remaining one who was sent to the Krachi government hospital has since been transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is reported to be responding to treatment.

The M.C.E for Krachi West Municipal, Emmanuel Kajal Jalula who was at the burial service said the Municipality has seen so many accidents of such nature, but ”this has taken all by shock and can still not believe even though the students have been put to rest”.

He announced that measures will be instituted in collaboration with Ghana Highways to institute speed ramps to avoid careless collisions.
Furthermore, ”more Police Officers will be put on the roads to check over speeding and careless driving so this does not reoccur”.

Meanwhile, the Driver linked to the unfortunate accident absconded when the incident happened to avoid being lynched by the townsfolk.
He has since turned himself into the Police, where he has been placed in custody at Kete Krachi.
