Afram Plains North to be connected to the National Grid

Twenty- three communities in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District are to be connected to the national electricity grid by the end of this year.

The beneficiary communities include Adofo, Alavanyo, Adukrom, Bethel, Abotanso ,Mafi Kope, Adorkope, Agordeke, Atiwlame, Kamalo, Anidzi Sebia and Sawua.

This was disclosed by the Kwahu Afram Plain North District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Kena at the Assembly’s town hall meeting organised in partnership with the District Information Services Department (ISD).  Mr Kena said work had already begun in some areas and that he would ensure its early completion to boost the economic activities of the people.

He said  this year, the assembly had donated 200 streetlights to Kwaekese, Attakora, Donkorkrom, Bridge Ano, Esukesu and Bruben communities.

He explained that the assembly had provided three mechanized boreholes with solar panels and 10 to 20 seater toilet facilities at Abotanso, Sodzikope, Aglade, Adiemmra, Amankwakrom among others.

Mr Kena said the Assembly had initiated the construction of affordable housing project at Donkorkrom and Adiemmra to ease the frustrations of workers posted to the area in seeking accommodation.

He therefore urged the people to cooperated and support the contractors for the smooth implementation of all on- going projects in the district.
